Bath time is one of our favorite daily things with do.  Atticus could stay in the water for a long time just playing and splashing, while I try to give him a bath haha. Something I have always loved is the scent of baby wash and lotions.  I could smell them all day! My all time favorite smell is from the Mustela products.  To be honest, I could shower and put that lotion on me everyday (I don’t haha).  You know those smells that are so addicting you open the bottle just to smell it every time?  Another thing I love about Mustela is their formula made with Avocado Perseose… Avocado!!!!!  This patented natural ingredients helps hydrated your baby’s delicate skin. They are also hypoallergenic and helps minimize the risk of skin allergic reactions.

When we bought this house I always dreamt of giving my baby baths in my farm sink.  Since we brought him home he has taking his bath in the sink with a baby tub inside of it.  I don’t feel safe having him directly in the sink yet, since he is so over the place I know he is gonna hit his head somewhere or slide in it.  I love the Boon SOAK tubs size and versatility.  It can be used with newborns, infants and toddlers. The bump on the bottom of the tub can be adjusted depending on your child’s age.  You can also place Boon SOAK in an adult bath tub.  I love how it’s a neutral color, which is oddly important to me haha.  I feel I could use this tub when we go to road trips and stay in places that only have showers, making it difficult to give your baby a bath.  Trust me, it happened to me in my last road trip!

Have a great weekend and Happy 4th of July!

Love,

Natalia

On our last road trip we noticed how uncomfortable Atticus was in his car seat.  We drove over seven hours and I couldn’t help to feel bad that he had to be strapped to that car seat.  His head would fall forward or fall all the way to the side, I felt his neck was gonna break.  If he is not sleeping, I don’t leave him in his car seat.  I prefer taking him in and out so he can sit (or lay) in his stroller.  I thought it was a love/hate relationship with any carseat.  When I received the Cybex Cloud Q car seat I decided to open my heart again.  My first thought was “wow this looks very comfy!” There are so many I personally love about the Cybex Cloud Q car seat:

  • Adjustable head rest with comfy cushions to keep his head in place.
  • Full recline position for outside of the car. Love this feature, when we go out to eat or any activity and he wants to sleep now I can leave him in his car seat and just recline it for him to be more comfortable.
  • Telescopic Linear Side-Impact Protection and Energy-Absorbing Shell, both help to absorb force in the event of a side-impact collision.
  • Award Winning Safety
  • Sleek design and style with so many colors to choose from to match your mama style.

I know our future road trips will be more enjoyable, in and outside of the car, with the CYBEX Cloud Q car seat!

Love,

Natalia

Let’s Be Honest Mamas: Technology with Kids

Let’s Be Honest Mamas: Technology with Kids

IMG_0621

Hello and happy Monday to everyone! Today I am back again with our Let’s Be Honest Mamas series talking about Technology with Kids.  I am so excited to be collaborating alongside these beautiful mamas again this month and I am always so honored that Hannah Renee asked me to be a part of these monthly Q&As and community.  You can follow #letsbehonestmamas hashtag to see everyone’s posts (and you can browse past posts as well!)  I have linked all the collaborating mamas at the end of this post for you to go and read their Q&As as well.  Enjoy reading!

1. Do you have an opinion on technology use with kids? Do you worry about being on your phone too much around your babies?

To be honest, I don’t know how to feel about technology just yet.  I believe it should not be used the entire day and that kids should go outside and play or be creative with other activities.  I do worry a lot using my phone around Atticus since I caught myself often looking at it when he is around.  Every time he sees my phone he will go distances just to get ahold of it.  I am being more intentional about using my phone while he is around me.  If I need to look at it for a moment I go into the kitchen and try to hide so he doesn’t see I am on my phone.  It is so bad, the addiction we have with our phones.  We often feel so guilty, but you are not the only one.

2. What age did you or will you allow your kids to play with your phone, iPad, etc.? Do you restrict what they do on it? Will you buy them their own tablet?

I don’t think we are just going to give Atticus the phone all the time so he can play with it.  I believe if we are out on a restaurant and he is not happy is best to put some kind of entertainment to watch on the phone to keep him busy.  In all truth he is bored and not wanting to be there and I want for him to be pleasant and happy when we go places for ourselves.  Right now he doesn’t use our phone to look at or play games.  I mean he is still too little, he just wants to eat, haha.  I don’t think we will buy him his own tablet, he can use our iPad. I feel we say so many things that we are never gonna do and then we find ourselves doing it, right?!

3. At what age did you (or do you plan to) let your kids watch tv and for how much time per day? Certain tv shows/channels?

I play TV for Atticus in the morning and evening.  While having breakfast and us drinking our coffee we turn the TV to watch his favorites nursery rhymes videos.  The same in the evening, white he is eating his dinner.  And it gives me a chance to start making dinner for us while he is entertain watching the videos.  I don’t let him watch more than 45 minutes at the time.  When the video is done, is done.  Right now all he watches and love is Super Simple Songs on YouTube.  Oh I have learned them all, LOL.

4. What are your/your babe’s favorite tv shows and movies? Are you concerned with the message it teaches and do you restrict any shows in particular?

Right now he only loves the Super Simple Songs videos in their YouTube channel.  I’ve tried to play other TV shows for him, like Sesame Street, but he is not interested at all.  If it’s not singing the whole time with lots of colors and cute little characters he won’t watch it.  So that is the only videos I play for him.  I am not concerned with the message it teaches because it is nursery rhymes, which we already sing to them.  It has also benefit me so much because I knew zero nursery rhymes haha.  I mean, I remember  some Spanish songs when I was a kid, but it was the Itsy Bitsy Spider lol.

5. If you do not use iPad/iPhones as entertainment/distractions while out, what types of activities, toys, explanations do you use?

Right now he doesn’t use the phone for entertainment when we are out because he really  doesn’t know to hold while watching a video.  We entertain him with food right now.   Teething wafers and puffs.  We play the Super Simple Songs Spotify channel and he loves that too.  He recognizes that those are the songs that he watches on the TV.
